Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral from my Doctor to be seen?

No, a referral is not required to begin physical therapy in Texas. The state allows direct access to physical therapy services, which means you can be evaluated and treated without first seeing a physician.

At Refined Motion Rehab, our licensed physical therapists meet the state’s requirements for direct access, allowing us to begin your care immediately.

Why don’t you take insurance?

We’ve chosen to operate as a cash-based practice to provide the highest level of personalized care without the restrictions and limitations imposed by insurance companies.

Traditional insurance often dictates how many visits you can have, what treatments are covered, and how much time a therapist can spend with each patient. By working directly with you — not through insurance — we’re able to offer one-on-one sessions, customized treatment plans, and the flexibility to focus solely on your recovery, performance, and long-term wellness goals.

How will you send me my exercises?

At Refined Motion Rehab, we use MedBridge, a secure and user-friendly online platform, to deliver your personalized home exercise program.

After each session, you’ll receive an email or text link to your customized plan, which includes:

  • Video demonstrations of each exercise for proper form

  • Written instructions and recommended frequency

  • Progress tracking so you can monitor your improvements over time

You can access your exercises anytime through the MedBridge app or website, making it easy to stay consistent and confident in your recovery plan — whether you’re at home, traveling, or on the go.

How many sessions should I expect to see you?

Every patient’s needs are unique, but most clients can expect to be seen for approximately 3–6 sessions. Our goal is to help you achieve meaningful progress efficiently — not to keep you in therapy longer than necessary.

Throughout your care, we focus on education, movement strategies, and self-management techniques that empower you to take control of your recovery and maintain results independently. You’ll leave each session with the knowledge and tools you need to confidently manage your symptoms and prevent future issues.
